Iran will counter US military threat | Printable version |

Senior Advisor to the Leader for Military Affairs, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi | In case of any attack on Iran by the US military, Washington should expect a crushing response, a senior Iranian official says.
Senior Advisor to the Leader for Military Affairs, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, said the US will not be able to predict the catastrophic consequences of an attack on Iran.
"The US will face three major problems if it decides to invade Iran. First, given the fact that 200,000 US troops in Iraq are vulnerable and that Iran has identified all their locations, the US cannot predict Iran's devastating reaction," he said.
"Second, the US would be unable to predict what would happen to the Zionist regime and, third, the oil markets would be negatively affected as well."
The US has never ruled out any possible military action on Iran and George Bush has repeatedly warned about Iran's nuclear progress. But Iran says while it has never attacked or intends to attack other countries, it is sure to give a very serious response to those threatening its soil.
