A civilian is killed and twelve others are wounded in the course of two separate bomb attacks in the vicinity of Baghdad, Iraq's Interior Ministry has said.
According to the ministry, a homemade bomb went off inside a vehicle near the Zawraa park in western Baghdad on Tuesday afternoon which killed a civilian and wounded five others.
In another incident, several mortar rounds landed on a thoroughfare in Baghdad's southern neighborhood of Baiyaa, wounding seven people and damaging some shops and cars in the scene.
Despite US's surge in the war-torn country in a bid to rein in the unbridled insurgency, violence still continues infesting Baghdad's streets.
